布兰迪斯大学，是美国麻州一所私立小型大学，在美国教育界却颇有地位，被誉为“全美最年青的主要研究院大学”。 大学课程大致分为两种，讲座（lecture）一般由教授讲课，有若干助教（TA），人数在20～300人不等。讨论式课程（discussion）一般由研究生或博士生，有时也会有教授讲课，人数一般在20上下。由于师生比例较高，一般情况下找老师问问题都是没有困难的。

布兰迪斯大学brandeis university的特点是崇尚小班教学,大部分课程的上课人数,都在三人以下,学生找教授解决疑难或聊天,一点困难也没有。
这所每年用在每名学生身上的经费高达29,500多美元的高等学府,以理科最为出色,生物化学(全美排第11)、物理(全美排第30)、化学(全美排第38)及生物,举国知名,其他学科,如计算机科学、英文、历史、政治科学和经济,也备受赞扬。前一两年有3,890人投考,录取率为58%。大学有四所研究生院：文理研究生院、国际经济金融研究生院、michtom计算机学院以及florence haller社会福利研究生院。
这里必须一提的是,三分之二的学生来自犹太人中上家庭,因此来自回教家庭或同情阿拉伯国家的学生,都不宜申请。
