以药学专业的背景去申请统计学和金融工程专业，我经历了理工科申请中最难跨越的难关——先修课程和技能背景缺失。这是再高的GPA、GT都很难去弥补的。我的取胜秘诀在于做一只早起鸟。在哈鲁老师的指导下，我对目标专业的先修专业背景要求进行了充分的了解，并有针对性地去选修相关课程。此外，哈鲁老师也在文书写作上面给了我很大的帮助，成功将我非本专业出身的背景，与新专业的兴趣点，新专业的学业和职业规划有机合理地结合起来，强调我转专业的决心，以及自身能力能够胜任新专业学习和研究。

我的出国之路是充满荆棘的。作为一名国内普通本科的学生，我的硬件条件并不突出，能够获得CMU的录取的确是意料之外的事。但是通过此次申请，我感受到GPA以及GT等硬件条件，虽然是学校的参考因素，但并不是参考的全部因素。其中，工作经验以及出国动机也占了相当重的比例。在这里，我真的要感谢哈鲁留学的老师。他们帮我列的文书提纲让我更深入地去思考自己的申请动机和优势，并帮我制定了有针对性的选校方案，帮助我最终获得理想大学的录取。

商科博士很少见，在加入哈鲁之前，我上各大论坛找了很多信息，但是有用的信息非常少，我也了解到商科博士的录取难度非常大，但是在物色机构的时候我发现很多机构都没有商科博士的成功案例，在我快绝望的时候我找到了哈鲁，找到了专业性非常强的老师。在接下来的日子里，哈鲁的老师陪我走过了苦逼的GT考试准备，漫长的套磁以及繁琐的面试练习，并最终收获美国和荷兰几所学校的商科博士全奖录取。

一个清晰合理的职业规划对于申请来说帮助非常大。做完整个申请下来，从一开始对自己的职业生涯规划一片模模糊糊，为申请而申请，到最后因申请而更明确了自己的规划，从而打心底里认为这条路是对的，项目非常适合自己。带着这样心情和认同感做材料，你的感受也会让对方感受到，那样拿到录取的可能性就会更大一些。

生物医学博士类的申请对于国内本科生来说存在着巨大的难点。一是因为国内教育和科研氛围并没有能为本科生提供较多的增加科研背景的机会；二是因为美国生物医学类科研水平全球第一，对于非美国本土教育下的学生的背景持有怀疑态度。在研究经费有限的情况下，国际学生招生数目极其有限。在这样的一个大背景下，我建议大家一定要提前去准备，并且，在提升研究背景的时候不要局限于本校。校外研究机会，甚至是国外研究机会都可以尽量去尝试。

每个申请者成功的方式可能不同。但是我认为也有一些共同的方面，具体如下：
1、把握好申请时间，尤其是商科申请越早越好，这一点哈鲁的咨询师是做得挺不错的；
2、要打造好自己的硬件背景。好的GT、GPA，扎实的金融基础知识是必备的；
3、要在文书里、面试中证明自学的能力，同时我认为学校会偏好一些自信的学生，但是同时也欢迎像我这种踏实、诚实的学生。总之，每个申请者都可以以自己的方式去打动招生人员。
