　　with over 100 graduate programs through 11 different divisions and schools, the university of chicago has no single standard application. the following are several components that are common to many of our program applications. you can find more details and instructions through your program of choice.

　　online application form

　　the university of chicago uses a number of online application systems. all application materials—including transcripts—required or desired in support of your application must be submitted by your program’s deadline. these deadlines vary by program, so be sure you check the specific graduate degree program for the application deadline date.

　　applications should be submitted as early as possible so that you can track the status of your application and the receipt of standardized test scores or letters of recommendation. you should log into and check the status of your application frequently once you have submitted it. you will not be allowed to submit your application after the deadline to your designated program has passed.

　　transcript

　　for each college or university you have attended, you must submit transcript or academic record and list that program in the education section of your application. prior to submitting your application, you must send a scanned copy of your academic record for each institution to your department or upload it to your online application. please make sure all transcripts are legible. refer to detailed instructions within the online application with regard to transcripts and academic records.

　　applicants who have attended international institutions whose transcripts are in a language other than english must submit those transcripts or certified attestations of study with certified english translations. both the original transcript and the certified translations must be uploaded to your online application or sent to the department.

　　首先我们想先澄清一下的是,这个项目并不是不招大陆本科的学生。的确,大陆本科面临的挑战会比较大,但是从另一个角度来说,大陆本科直接过来读一年的研究生找到工作的难度的确比较大。招生办会更愿意录取沟通能力相对强的美本学生。这并不代表就不会录取大陆学生。我们这届一共11个中国护照的学生,就有两名是大陆本科的。硬指标什么的都没有特别突出,但是特点就是能力都很强。我觉得这点会从侧面反映出这个项目的就业导向。

　　弗吉尼亚大学提供无数的机会,有好几个咨询公司,四大,各种投行都会愿意sponsor international students。项目对于国际学生也特别的友好,就业办公室清楚国际学生特殊的需求,他们也提供有专门的讲座和信息去辅助我们寻找工作。机会很多,但是找工作的梦想却只能靠你自己实现。现在因为招聘季还刚刚开始,恕无法提供就业数据。

　　项目特点1. 主要面向会计本科,是因为有先修课要求,尤其是联邦税法这门课(federal taxation)。这对于大陆学生是门槛,但是录取以后学校都会告诉你去哪里上网络课程来满足先修的要求

　　du(university of denver)msf在读 给后人提供一些信息。楼主现在在university of denver读msf。之前申请学校的时候就觉得du的资料在cd上特别少,遂发此贴为选校的同学介绍一下du的基本情况。有些信息可能已经是去年的不适用于今年了,所以具体要求还是要去官网上自己查一查的。学校网址是www.du.edu

　　先说一下学校申请条件吧。楼主和楼主的同学一般都是69族。t在96~99不等,g是640~710。也有个别71的。申请essay一共3个小问题,这一点跟其他学校略有不同,楼主当年就是其他学校的essay基本一样然后单独又为du写了三篇。不过字数要求不多,所以也不是很困难。推荐信,简历,成绩单这都是基本要求可以到官网上查。个人觉得只要t过了95,就是essay更重要了,所以一定不要全权托付给中介,一定要自己好好写写然后找个受过高等教育的local给改一改。

　　然后说一下du的费用。du的一个学分是1024刀,楼主的msf是62个学分毕业。accounting,mkting和realestate是54个学分。mba是坑爹的80+个学分。另外accounting正式上课之前有考试,如果不能通过要多修2~4个学分。租房一般是400刀~700刀不等。外面吃一餐7刀~15刀不等。自己买菜就便宜多了一个月每人也就100刀左右。denver算比较富有的地区,税比较高一些,但是跟纽约波士顿这种大城市比还是花费少很多的。两年读下来估计要6,70万人民币吧。

　　du授课。du是悲惨的quarter制,一年4个quarter,一个quarter10个星期,夏季那个quarter可以不修课,修课的话是9个星期。一般一个quarter修2~3门课。du采取小班制,一节课最多40人,一般保持在20+人。也有选到几个人上课的就是了。因为学期短,所以老师的进度是非常快的,再加上阅读材料非常多,有的课两个星期一个quiz,有的课每节都有作业之类的所以学习是很紧张的。

　　du国际生比例。du的国际生基本上就可以说是中国学生了。之前有传闻说韩国人多,结果来了之后一个没遇到。号称是有15个其他国家的人,但是其他每个国家有一个,剩下的都是中国的。但是也没有夸张到像是在中国上学就是了。基本上课还是一半一半的,小组讨论2个local3个中国人这种。mba的local非常多,基本小组讨论是一个人被几个local包围。

　　du生活。没车很辛苦啊!买食物的超市远,这里出租车要打电话预订的而且超贵。所以强烈建议买车,不过到时候买车的同学会比较多,买东西的话让熟人载你也是一样的。denver是那种如果你生活在北京上海这种地方来这之后一定会觉得村儿,如果你来自二三线城市还会觉得这里生活比较舒服的那种地方。气候很干燥!冬天有雪。downtown离du不远,持du的学生卡免费乘坐任何公共交通工具。denver周边有很多优美的自然景观,短途旅行还是很丰富的。爬山露营不必说,冬天还可以滑雪,泡温泉。有几个国家公园在附近,还有个redstone开露天演唱会的地儿还算小有名气,前一阵林肯公园来了,过几天jason mraz也要来。嘿嘿,生活可以很多姿多彩。

　　目前就想到这么多,总的来说du是可以学到东西的地方,但是和其他普通学校一样它不会给你带来像top10商学院那样的声誉人脉和迅速增加财富。所以当你能力有限的时候,是否选择商学院,选择商学院的目的就成了更值得深思衡量的问题。出国不要盲目,也不要抱有太大期望,无论在什么环境下,付出努力才会带你缩进与目标的距离,毕竟无论宏观数字什么样对你个人而言永远是50%的概率--输或赢。我想说的就这么多,如果还有问题的话可以留言问我,我会尽力回答的。祝诸位一切顺利!
